Raphaël holds a degree in engineering from Mines Paristech and graduated with a Ph.D. in Statistics from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. After a few months as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chair of Statistics, he joined the Swiss Data Science Center at EPFL where he was conducting research collaborative projects and helping laboratories of the ETH domain to solve scientific questions using data science. Since 2021, he is now Senior Data Scientist within the Data Science Competence Center at the Federal Statistical Office, where he offers his expertise in data science to the Swiss public administrations. In his research, Raphaël tackled various aspects of spatio-temporal data, more specifically environmental risk quantification, analysis of dynamical climate models and more recently privacy for geo-referenced data.
