Elliot Schrage
Elliot Schrage’s career spans over 30 years working at the intersection of business, technology and human rights. He recently stepped down after leading Facebook’s public policy and communications efforts for more than a decade, building standards and practices to protect privacy, expression, security and safety in its global operations. He held a similar role with Google before that. Previously, Elliot served as the  Bernard Schwartz Adjunct Senior Fellow in Business and Foreign Policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, after having helped to create the first stand-alone course dedicated to exploring the human rights responsibilities of global business at Columbia Business School, a course he led for almost 15 years. Elliot began his career as a lawyer at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and Paris. He received his B.A., J.D., and M.P.P. degrees from Harvard College, Harvard Law School and the Kennedy School of Government and also studied at École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
